Early last spring, Me Inc. introduced Shout Postcard, a multimedia mobile messaging/blogging service, for Palm OS-run Treos. Today, it has extended Shout Postcard to Palm’s newest smartphone, Centro, and RIM's BlackBerry Curve models.

Through Shout Postcard, which is still in beta, the company promises to delivers a higher level of photo, text and voice integration in text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages than what's normally offered by smartphone makers. With it, you can combine a picture, an up-to-a-minute long recorded audio message, and text in what Me describes as a personalized multimedia postcard.

You can send these multimedia postcards to a recipient's e-mail inbox or, if they have one, compatible smartphone. A Web version of Shout Postcard allows users to send these messages from a PC instead of a smartphone.

The messages you send from a desktop or your mobile handset are automatically collected into a created on the fly Shout Web album. This album can be shared with others or used as a blog.

Currently, only a free trial version of Shout Postcard that limits users to sending these integrated messages to 25 contacts (up from 5 in the spring) at time is available.

If you find yourself interested in trying out Shout Postcard, but your smartphone isn't supported, you can sign up here to be notified by Me when it becomes compatible.
