Tip: Windows Mobile - Adding Fonts for Word in Office Mobile

If you're going to read and edit Word documents on your handheld, you can make it a little more pleasant and accurate by installing the fonts you and your colleagues use most often on your device.

Here's how to do it:

  •  Connect your handheld to your computer.
  •  On your computer, click Start-Control Panel.
  •  Double-click on Fonts to see the list of fonts on your computer.
  •  Select the one(s) you want to copy to your handheld, then click Edit-Copy.
  •  Open My Computer and select your Mobile Device to view it.
  •  Open My Windows Mobile-based Device-Windows-Fonts.
  •  Select Edit-Paste to insert your chosen fonts onto your handheld.

(Note that not all fonts will play nicely with Windows Mobile.)

Now, when you use Word Mobile and select Menu-Format-Font, your new fonts will appear in the list. Or, to view the fonts installed on your device, choose File Explorer-Fonts.
