Edit Microsoft Office Files on Windows Mobile Smartphones

The first document editor for the Smartphone flavor of Windows Mobile 5.0 is now available, addressing one of the biggest flaws in that platform. Before DataViz's Documents To Go, you could read but not edit Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) files.

Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphones include popular devices like the Motorola Q, Samsung BlackJack, T-Mobile Dash & SDA and Cingular 3125 & 2125.

As with the Palm edition of Documents To GO (the most popular mobile office application for that platform), the Windows Smartphone version includes DataViz's InTact technology, which makes sure the formatting and layout of documents are maintained when edited on a smartphone. This means, for example, all file formatting - even the complex (like headers and footers, macros and animations) - is reflected when a file is opened on a smartphone after being received from a desktop or e-mailed as an attachment directly from a mobile device to a desktop.

In addition to Microsoft Office files, users can view Adobe PDF files and decompress zipped attachments. It also supports charting and password protected Excel and Word files.

Documents To Go for Windows Mobile 5.0 sells for $29.99.
