Pictures of Treo 755p Leaked

The first images of Palm's upcoming replacement for the Treo 700p are making the rounds through the Internet rumor mill. As with the current Treo model for CDMA/EV-DO carriers (e.g. Verizon Wireless, Sprint), the Treo 755p will run on the Palm OS.

As you can see from the picture, the 755p will look a lot like Palm's current Treos (e.g. 750, 680) for GSM networks. AT&T carries both these models in the U.S.

This means the 755p will lose the 700p’s antenna and be slimmer, lighter, and more compact than current model.

The supposed release date for the 755p is May 14th.

As with the 700p the 750p will run on a modified version of ACCESS's Garnet OS (recently changed from Palm OS Garnet) - there's no newer Palm platform to choose from, right - and be 3G-enabled through support for EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized network) cellular-wireless networks. This high-speed technology carries content - video, e-mail, pictures, etc. - at average rates of 400 to 700 kilobits per second.

Other than this, nothing else is known about the upcoming smartphone. We'll report more details as we learn them. For more pictures, available at Engadget, click here.
