Tip: BlackBerry – Pick the Font and Text Size That’s Right for You

The display on a handheld or smartphone, a BlackBerry for example, is inherently smaller than most of the screens we're used to staring at all day-and I don't just mean today's gigantic TVs. By extension, text is often too small to read comfortably, leading eye strains, not matter how sharp the display.

There is a solution. You can easily set a BlackBerry's font and text size to something you find more comfortable to read. Although it may take a few extra screens to get through an e-mail message, it’s worth it.

Here's how to select a font and change the text size on a BlackBerry:

  •   First, from your home screen, click Options.

  •  Then, select Screen/Keyboard.

  •  Select a Font Family, then a size and you can also specify levels of boldness and whether you prefer italics.

A handy feature of this process is that as you scroll through the options, a sample sentence changes to reflect whichever choice you're considering. That's nice because it means you can make informed decisions, rather than randomly clicking on a choice only to find it's not so great before going through the whole process again.
