T-Mobile informed us last night that it plans to celebrate the first retail sale of the T-Mobile G1 with Google at the 3rd and Market store in San Francisco today at 6:00 pm. That's 11 hours before it's available anywhere else in the country.

Those interested in purchasing a T-Mobile G1 from the San Francisco location are encouraged to arrive early as supplies will be limited and sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The carrier's stores across the country will open early on tomorrow, 8:00 am local time, to begin selling phones in T-Mobile's 3G markets. If you are not in a T-Mobile 3G market, but want to get G1 anyway, you'll have to order one - in-store or online.

T-Mobile 3G service is currently available in more than 95 cities nationwide. See here to find out if your area is one of them.
