Control Presentations from Your Mobile

By Amy Mayer

A good business presentation requires you to prepare, practice, get the PowerPoint slides just right and then… fumble with your laptop while you go from slide to slide?! Of course not. You want to be smooth. You don't want to feel tethered to your machine. Liberty Control is a software app for Palm devices that turns your handheld into a remote control for your computer. Now, you can stroll around in front of your audience, step aside to give full view of your slides and continue with your talk without trying to subtly return to your computer to press a key.

You can also set the phone to give you your presentation notes or to prompt you when to hit the next slide so you don't get off track or off schedule.

PowerPoint aside, you can use your handheld to do anything on your computer, from typing to mousing to web browsing. Liberty Control from Wagware costs about $20. You can download it here.
