By James Alan Miller
Motorola has posted a web page devoted to the latest member of its Q-family of Windows Mobile smartphones, the MOTO Q11. As Motorola describes it, the Q11 is chock full of features and a real step up from the Motorola Q9, which it closely resembles.
The Q11's got a better camera, at 3 megapixels with auto focus and adds integrated GPS and Wi-Fi, for instance. It is also about a millimeter smaller all around and will ship with Windows Mobile 6.1. With the battery installed, the Q11 measures 4.6 x 2.5 x .46 inches (117 x 64 x 11.7 millimeters) and weighs 4.1 ounces (115 grams).
Its microSDHC supports storage cards as large as 32GB and it integrates 64MB of RAM and 128MB of Flash memory.
While the Q11 is a a quad-band GSM world phone, it tops out at EDGE cellular-data networking, as there is no 3G. According to Motorola, its 1170 mAH battery nets up to 7.5 hours of talk and 195 hours standby time on a single charge.
No world on pricing yet, or even what carrier will offer the Q11 in the U.S. As a GSM phone, AT&T, which has a long history of offering MOTO Qs, and possibly T-Mobile are the likeliest candidates. Motorola indicates the smartphone will ship in December. See here for additional details, including a comprehensive list of specifications. Related Links:
