Tip: Samsung Epix - Managing the Epix's Epic Finger Mouse

The Windows Mobile-run Samsung Epix is the first smartphone available in the U.S. with a built-in optical mouse. It is the heir to the Samsung BlackJack and BlackJack II.

The black pad in the center of the Samsung Epix is akin to a touch pad on a laptop. Slide your finger over it and a mouse icon will move across your screen. When it's where you want to click, tap the pad. Though the device has a touch screen and a stylus, we've found the finger mouse to be the most reliable way to navigate.

Here's how to manage the mouse's settings:

Go to Setting-->System-->Finger Mouse to adjust options such as speed and image. Or, if you really don’t like the finger mouse, go to the same screen to switch to four-way navigation mode.

In this setting, slide your finger left, right, up or down to get where you want to be and tap the pad to click. There's no mouse icon in this mode.
