A free, ad supported version of WeatherBug is now available for Google's Android platform. You can download and install the application through the Android Market on the T-Mobile G1, the first - and so far only - Android-run handset.
With WeatherBug's Android application, users can customize weather maps for multiple locations as well as view detailed radar, live weather conditions, forecasts and the latest local and national weather outlook videos from WeatherBug meteorologists. They can also view snapshots and time-lapse animation from more than 2,000 WeatherBug cameras.
By integrating Google Map's interactive functionality, WeatherBug's Android application is fully customizable, enabling consumers to drill down to the street level by simply touching any area on the map for two seconds, according to the app's developer - also WeatherBug. Consumers can also layer temperature, radar and more on the same map. Users are able to check on weather conditions and set-up new locations by pulling the location information from their contact list. If they choose to add a location from the contact list, WeatherBug will use the address to look for a local WeatherBug weather station. They can also share the current weather information, forecast, alerts and photographs with others through the mobile app. See the seven-and-half-minute video below to get the full lowdown on the WeatherBug for Android.
