TimeDrift Keeps Palm Clocks Accurate

By James Alan Miller
December 18, 2008

TimeDrift from Tamoggemon picks up where Palm left off with some of its more recent Palm OS devices: It keeps your smartphone's time accurate even after a reset.

You see, with the last few Palm smartphones, users often have to re-adjust their device's clock when they reset their handheld. Anyone who owns a smartphone, even the much-vaunted iPhone, knows having to reset the device every once in a while -- just like turning on and off a PC -- to get things running again is a necessity.

According to Tamoggemon, TimeDrift implements a custom algorithm tailored to the drifting behavior of the RTCs (Real-Time Clocks) found in some Palm's devices. The software can even work without a network connection.

TimeDrift ($9.95) works with Treo 680/700p/755p and Centro devices.
