Mozilla Updates Firefox Fennec as Mobile Browser Fight Looms

By Brian T. Horowitz
December 24, 2008

Wired.com reports that Mozilla has a new alpha version of its mobile Firefox Fennec browser.

Apple told Wired the new browser likely will be incompatible with the iPhone. An early preview of the mobile browser, Firefox Fennec runs on the Nokia N810 tablet. Mozilla may distribute the Fennec browser on platforms such as Android, Nokia Symbian and Windows Mobile.

Competition in the mobile browser market includes the leader Opera Mini as well as Mobile Safari and Internet Explorer Mobile.
