RIM: Storming Ahead or Tumbling?

Less than two weeks after Research In Motion (RIM) released the long-awaited BlackBerry Storm on Verizon Wireless' network, the company forecasted revenue for the third quarter lower than expectations at $2.75–$2.78 billion.

Previously, the company had predicted revenue in the range of $2.95–$3.10 billion. Still, revenue for Q3 is approximately 65 percent higher than revenue in the same quarter last year.

RIM cites the economic climate for the rockier forecast, but the success of the BlackBerry Storm and other new products keeps the company's prospects bright.
