Mobile applications provider AirClic today announced its Fusion model, a data-capture device designed to work with the Motorola Renegade V950 ruggedized cell phone.

The $499 AirClic Fusion allows workers in the field to perform bar-code scanning, electronic signature capture, take pictures of accident sites, take GPS readings and record voice notes.

The device, along with Motorola's V950, is suitable for unfavorable work environments and able to withstand dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, rain and humidity.

"Now, enterprises can replace unwieldy ruggedized mobile computers and put the power of information into the hands of more users within an organization with an enterprise-class solution ideal for organizations with short budgets, but broad needs, " said Tim Bradley, CEO of AirClic, in a statement.

AirClic, based in Trevose, Pennsylvania, expects the market for mobilization products to grow in 2009, despite the economic downturn.
