Tip: BlackBerry - Ways to Send, Manage Photos

The myriad ways you can get a photo off your smartphone match the convenience of having your phone be a digital camera. When you shoot an image, you can typically send it within a text message (MMS), e-mail it to someone or upload it to your computer.

Using a BlackBerry, these options work like this:

From the camera screen, press the menu button and choose "View photos." Scroll to highlight the photo you want to send. Press the menu key. Scroll down to select "Send As Email," "Send As MMS," or even "Send to Messenger."

When you select one, you'll be prompted to enter an e-mail address or to select a contact. That's it—just type a message if you want or simply send it.

To upload to your computer, connect your device either using USB or Bluetooth. If using Bluetooth, you just choose "Send Using Bluetooth" from the same menu as above. You'll be prompted to select a computer to connect to and then provided your device finds you're computer, you're all set. Choose the photos you want to upload and the folders you want them to go to.

Using USB, once your device is plugged in, you can use the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to launch Roxio Media Manager.

With this media manager, you can see the files on your desktop and your handheld. Navigate to the destination folder on your computer and the source folder on your device. Highlight the photo you want to move—you can change the view from list to thumbnail if you don't know the filename—and then click the "copy up" button.
