Tip: More Animal Sounds from Verizon Wireless

By Amy Mayer

If you read a recent tip about endangered species ringtones (see link below) and you're a Verizon user, you may have been frustrated. We tried with two different Verizon smartphones, which didn't appear on the list of devices to pick from when conducting the download, and we couldn't make the ringtones happen. But, rest assured, Verizon includes more than its own ringtones on its Web site. This list of providers theoretically offers tones compatible with Verizon's devices and rates vary.

In pursuit of animals, though, we next tried where you can select from chickens, cows, grizzly bears, cobras, many kinds of birds and more. They lack some of the political cache of the endangered species, but they'll get your attention (and everyone else's) just the same. Then you can expound politically if you choose. Unfortunately, Funtonia's not free but charges you for a subscription.
