Rumor: Rogers Canada Eying Nokia N95, iPhone

Rumor has it Rogers Canada may soon pick up the Nokia N95.

If true, then it most certainly should be the version of the N95 with support for North American-style 3G. It's hard to tell if it'll be the edition with 8GB of internal storage, however. Whatever N95 it is, it could become available from Rogers as soon as next week.

The N95 with both 3G and 8GB just shipped in the U.S., but it is unlocked and therefore unsubsidized by a mobile operator. So there's no help from a carrier with its $800 price tag.

Nokia's uber smartphone sports a 2.8-inch, at 240 x 320 pixel(QVGA) display, in addition to a 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, and A-GPS. Its unique two-way slider design reveals media controls when slid one way and a numeric keypad when moved the other way.

Built-in stereo speakers offer a 3D stereo effect, plus there's a standard 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones, and mini USB for data transfers. Bluetooth with A2DP allows users to leverage wireless stereo headsets as well.

In related news, rumor has it Rogers may soon pick up the iPhone as well. The carrier is targeting a late May-early June campaign to promote touch screen smartphones and wants to include the iPhone. See here for more.
