While Research In Motion is pleased with improvements to its SureType system, available on the new Pearl 8120 and 8110, perhaps even more helpful is a published list of tips.
Here are a few gems:
For quick capital letters, simply hold down the key. The auto feature will bring up the capital version of both letters (scroll with the navigator button when necessary).
For Number Lock, hold shift and press alt.
When typing an email address, if you press the space key at the end of the user name, the @ symbol will come up. Press space again after the domain and the period key comes up.
If you prefer the multi-tap typing strategy, switch to it by pressing the menu key while in a text field. Select "enable multi-tap."
You can highlight as much text as you want by holding down the shift key while rolling the track ball. Then press I the track ball to select copy, cut or other menu options.
To paste text, simply move the cursor to where you want the paste to happen, press the menu key and select paste.
