Tip: BlackBerry Pearl - Typing Tips & Tricks

While Research In Motion is pleased with improvements to its SureType system, available on the new Pearl 8120 and 8110, perhaps even more helpful is a published list of tips.

Here are a few gems:

�For quick capital letters, simply hold down the key. The auto feature will bring up the capital version of both letters (scroll with the navigator button when necessary).

�For Number Lock, hold shift and press alt.

�When typing an email address, if you press the space key at the end of the user name, the @ symbol will come up. Press space again after the domain and the period key comes up.

�If you prefer the multi-tap typing strategy, switch to it by pressing the menu key while in a text field. Select "enable multi-tap."

�You can highlight as much text as you want by holding down the shift key while rolling the track ball. Then press I the track ball to select copy, cut or other menu options.

�To paste text, simply move the cursor to where you want the paste to happen, press the menu key and select paste.
