RIM recently posted a document at its BlackBerry Technical Solution Center detailing recommendations to help administrators install a BlackBerry Enterprise Server service pack. A single upgrade can keep the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software current, as service packs include all cumulative changes released in previous service packs as well as hotfixes. Steps include:

According to RIM, the procedures outlined in the documnent involve restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services, which will will delay e-mail message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones.
