New LG Release Recommended for Rural Australians

By Amy Mayer
August 11, 2008

Rural users cope with black holes where coverage evaporates, slower speeds and any number of network inconsistencies that city folk would deem unacceptable-buy oh, the vistas!-right? Anyway, LG's is marketing its new KF390 specifically to regional and rural users in Australia, through an exclusive with Telstra.

The phone supports supper fast 7.2Mbps HSDPA data networks, and can receive a signal boost from an external antenna (either a patch lead or a directly-coupled car kit). But, LG's intimating it should work well without the antenna.

The KF390's got a 2 megapixel camera, a front-facing camera for video calls, a touch-sensitive navigation pad, Bluetooth, a 2-inch display, expandable memory and quad-band GSM and dual-band HSDPA connectivity.

Telstra sells the KF390 for AUD 559 (about $526)
