It still sucks as a phone
It might do a good job as an e-mail device, but as a phone it's aweful. The sound quality is thin and intermittent and the connectivity is poor at best. I can't wait for my iPhone.

Superfast EVDO
The author, like, seemingly all such reviewers, seems unable to distinguish between the older and slower EVDO Rev 0 and the current, much faster, EVDO Rev A. Which DOES the 8330 have? (RIM doesn't make it clear, either.) A little testing suggests it is probably Rev A, but why in the world wouldn't the review say so?

Also...the tinny sound, on both MP3 playback and calls sounds like a definite bummer, and probably either poor design or shortcuts taken.
Shame on RIM

Blackberry email
I don't understand the hype about Blackberry email. I have a Blackberry Curve and I tried the Blackberry email for awhile with my gmail account. I decided that the gmail mobile application was much more useful due to the superior fonts and ease of use.
