A few weeks ago, Kinoma released Kinoma Play ($29.99) for Windows Mobile, a media player that the company promised would make media (photos, video and audio) consumption more manageable on your smartphone. The first post-launch of Kinoma Play update is now available.

Here's what the free update provides:

  •
  • More “finger-friendly” for phones with hi-resolution (VGA+) screens, including the HTC Touch Diamond On touch phones, the menu pod supports left and right swipes to move between menus
  •
  • Norwegian language support
  •
  • Improved support for phones with both slide-out QUERTY keyboards and phone keypads
  •
  • Improved support for resuming video and audio streamed with Orb (requires Orb v2.01.0017 or newer)
  •
  • Improved compatibility with podcast feeds hosted by FeedBurner
  •
  • Improved Google Video compatibility
  •
  • Correct presentation of multi-part Audible audiobooks

While Kinoma Play is designed to work on all Windows Mobile phones, this update has been specifically tested and tuned with the smartphones listed here

Kinmoa Play users should have been notified of the upgrade automatically. If not, you can check for updates from within the application to get it on-demand: select Player > Check for Updates from within the menu to do so.
