Announced in July, txtForward gives BlackBerry users the ability to automatically forward their text messages to any e-mail address they specify. According to Electric Pocket, the developer of the application, txtForward now enables users to automatically send outbound SMS messages to an e-mail address as well. This new feature enables users to archive outgoing SMS messages as well as their incoming messages as previously available.
Electric Pocket says the software is useful when changing to a new phone, as it enables users to avoid missing messages during the transition. They also see it as beneficial for those who prefer to focus on e-mail as a messaging channel, or those who simply want the security of having text messages backed up with e-mail.
