By James Alan Miller
iambic has finally brought its popular personal information manager (PIM) to the BlackBerry OS, the most popular smartphone platform in the U.S. today. Originally available for the Palm OS as Action Names (the software became Agendus back in 2002), iambic brought the poplar application to Windows Mobile as well early last year.
According to the company, the new edition of Agendus has been especially tailored to work seamlessly on BlackBerry devices such as the BlackBerry Bold, KickStart, Pearl and Curve. So, for example, it ties together the most frequently used applications on your phone (Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks) so you get more things done using fewer (and, in most cases, half) the button presses. It also offers users a number of options for how information and activities are displayed, writes iambic on its company blog.
The BlackBerry version includes an at-a-glance view of the day ahead that includes Meetings, Tasks, recent messages and calls, and OTA information such as Weather and Quote of the Day. There are also views for one day, a week (list and grid mode), a month (expanded), as well as views for Tasks and Contact information (list and expanded) -- each of them fully customizable through a variety of preferences.
Agendus for BlackBerry sells for $19.95. iambic is offer upgrade pricing to users of Agendus on other platforms. Related Links:
