Digital Comics Coming to iPhone

By James Alan Miller
September 3, 2008

Forget paper. If you're comic book fan, you may soon find you'll be able to read your favorite title right on your iPhone or iPod touch. iVerse recently announced it is developing Comic Reader that will allow iPhone owners to download digital comics for as little as $.99, with some even available for nothing, directly from the iTunes App Store. It plans to adapt existing and new comics into the new iPhone-friendly format, which would allow you to simply flick through the pages with your finger - no pinching or zooming required. The company says it is currently in talks with industry pros and studios to bring their comics to the iPhone screen. It is also accepting content submissions from others (amateurs and pros alike) hoping to see their work go digital. See video below to get a look at the reader in action.
