If the strain on your eyes or the pain in your fingers is making you wonder whether your handheld might be hazardous to your health, here's an application aimed squarely at helping you be well. MyPersonalDiet, for Windows Mobile or Palm OS, is a comprehensive diet-support tool. Use it to track the foods you eat, your work outs and your overall health.

Use the software's calculators to establish appropriate weight-loss goals, enter your favorite foods to get their nutritional content, and then let the software recommend meals made up of the foods you eat most often (or, put in a new food and get back some surprises).

The download costs $24.95, less than many weight-loss programs, and since you can take it with you wherever you go, there's no excuse for not entering everything you've eaten. If that's not motivation to get to the gym-so you can enter workouts, too—then what is?
