Company Smartens Up Project Management for BlackBerry

By Brian T. Horowitz
January 29, 2009

At IBM's Lotusphere 2009 conference last week, Genius Inside introduced new versions of its project-management software with enhancements that include better support for BlackBerry smartphones.

Genius Project 2.0 and Genius Project4Domino 6.0 now feature invoicing capabilities, as well as enhanced portfolio tools that let managers oversee project portfolios. On the mobile side, the software adds a time sheet and expense module for RIM smartphones.

The company said the latter should be especially useful for consultants and project personnel on the go, as it makes the daily reporting of timesheets and expenses easier.

The project-tracking solution also allows workers to measure their progress on projects in areas such as time and distance -- a feature handy for railroad workers, the company notes.
