T-Mobile to Carry 8 Megapixel Samsung Phone

T-Mobile's Memoir from Samsung will offer a 8-megapixel camera, a first for the U.S., in a package that includes the TouchWiz user interface and 3G data compatibility. It also sports a dual LED flash and 30 fps video recording.

At one point, launch looked to be next month (on February 25), though that's now in question. The FCC approved the Memoir for release in this country back in December.

Price could be steep, maybe around $300 with a 2-year contract. But with the robust camera, and associated features, this phone will surely fill a niche. And if you're on T-Mobile anyway, with a contract coming up in 2009, it might be what you're looking for.

Just don't let your camera get jealous.
