Allstate Motor Club Develops Roadside Assistance App

By James Alan Miller
October 28, 2009

Ever have your car breakdown or get into a car accident only to have go through the added stress of searching for roadside assistance information? If so, then a new mobile application from the Allstate Motor Club could be for you.

Available for the iPhone and BlackBerry, the app provides users with an electronic membership card, an easy way to get roadside assistance, and other service details. It uses GPS to automatically determine a caller's location to help identify and connect them to the nearest available service provider.

When requesting roadside assistance, the app automatically transmits the driver's location and service details to a nearby service provider. Once service is confirmed, it provides you with the service provider's name and an estimated time of arrival.

Allstate Motor Club members can download the app and pre-register their contact information and membership ID. Drivers without Allstate Motor Club memberships can use the app on a pay-per-use basis.

See here for more information, including how to download the app to your iPhone or BlackBerry. Below is a video demonstrating how it works.
