RotationLock Locks BlackBerry Storm Screens In Place

The use of accelerometers in smartphones is great for a number of reasons, not the least of which is they can rotate screens with a turn of the handset itself. Say you are reading a web page while holding your device vertically, but would like to fit more text on the screen: all you have to do is turn the phone horizontal and your smartphone’s browser will follow automatically.

In some instance, this automatic turning of the screen is a pain, however; say when writing an e-mail. As a result, S4BB has released a utility called RotationLock for RIM's BlackBerry Storm and Storm 2 smartphones.

With RotationLock installed, BlackBerry Storm users can lock the screen of a particular application to portrait or landscape mode. Here is what the app brings to the table:

  •
  • Adds a menu item to all application on your device which will either allow you to “Unlock Screen” and “Lock Screen”.
  •
  • Works on all Blackberry native apps and more.
  •
  • Lets users compose emails in landscape mode or browse memos in portrait mode or any way you wish.

See video below to learn more about RotationLock, which goes for $4.99
