GIPS HD-Enables VoIP Apps for Android

In August 2008, IP voice and video processing solutions provider Global IP Solutions (GIPS) launched an adaptation of its widely acclaimed VoiceEngine Mobile technology for the second generation iPhone.

Last month, the San Francisco-based company announced a similar adaptation for the Android platform, which has gained a lot of traction in the past few months. The solution will allow developers to quickly and easily create VoIP applications for Android phones that provide HD (high definition) voice quality (which has also gained a lot of traction of late).

"GIPS VoiceEngine allows Android developers to build VoIP-enabled applications that offer HD voice, while tackling all the typical IP network issues—such as delay, jitter, packet loss, bandwidth constraints, noise, and echo," said GIPS’ Chief Technology Officer, Roar Hagen, in a statement. "With GIPS engineering expertise, developers can quickly and effectively build their applications enabling them to concentrate on their core business."
