WorldDialer Dials Up Savings for Individual, Corporate BlackBerry Users

By James Alan Miller
December 9, 2009

WorldDialer for BlackBerry, now on version 2.1, is an application that promises to cut costs on long distance and IDD (international direct dial) calls for individuals and companies by making it easier for them to use calling cards.

With the app, which supports up to 100 different phone card configurations, you only need to enter a calling card once, after which it can be used directly out of your BlackBerry's Address Book, no matter how complex the access number, calling card number, pin and verification code, according the developer, S4BB. A user can select a contact in his address book, a previously called number in the call log, or enter a number manually and then select a calling card to use for a call.

Small, medium and large corporations can deploy the WorldDialer BlackBerry client wirelessly through their BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES). And, by leveraging the RIM's push technology, the WorldDialer Enterprise Administration Panel can update WorldDialer client configurations remotely.

A yearly site license ($1,000) comes with the Administration Panel and five WorldDialer clients and free updates. Further customization of WorldDialer is available for integration of callback services or even custom PBX systems.

All current BlackBerry models running BlackBerry OS 4.3 and higher are compatible with WorldDialer 2.1

The WorldDialer client goes for $9.99 and volume licensing is available.
