Toshiba will take the wraps off its new smartphone, the TG01, later this month, according to Wired.com.

The TG01 is expected to be available overseas. What's cool about the device is its touch-screen stripe-column interface that folds around like a paper folding fan.

And to answer or end your call, just give the phone a little shake. Check out the YouTube video demonstration from the U.K. publication Mobile Computer magazine.

Here are some specifications of the TG01:

  •
  • A very large 4.1-inch, 800 x 480 pixel (WVGA) resolution touch display
  • 3G and 3.5G HSDPA, HSUPA cellular-wireless data technology
  • GPS
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • 256MB of RAM
  • 512MB of ROM
  • microSD slot for up to 32GB of storage per card
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 with Tosh 3D GUI on top
  • 1GH Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset (making it the most powerful smartphone yet)
  • ultra-thin at only 9.9 millimeters
  • camera of unknown megapixels
  • accelerometer
