Apple Testing Push Notifications for iPhone Apps

Looks like Apple is getting ready to put the push notifications of the iPhone 3.0 software through its paces. It has sent an e-mail to select developers testing the platform upgrade inviting them to test the new feature through a beta build of a future version of the Associated Press application for the iPhone and iPod touch, which is supposed to allow the AP to push breaking news to users.
