Verizon Wireless to Get Palm Pre, New BlackBerry Storm

By James Alan Miller
May 28, 2009

Reuter's reports that Verizon Wireless, the largest carrier in the U.S. (thanks to its Alltel acquisition), will start offering the Palm Pre and an updated version of its popular BlackBerry Storm in about six months. The news comes straight from top Verizon Wireless exec Lowell MacAdam, who said "over the next six months or so you will see devices like Palm Pre and a second generation Storm." No surprise on the a Storm 2, but only a half a year for the Pre to arrive at Verizon makes Sprint's exclusivity period for the smartphone pretty short. Sprint is slated to launch the Pre, Palm's make or break new smartphone, on June 6th.
