T-Mobile Starts Rolling Out Android Platform Update

T-Mobile USA is now offering G1 customers new software updates, including the latest version, 1.5 (codenamed Cupcake), of Google's Android smartphone platform, which that smartphone runs on. The carrier will deliver the over-the-air Android update to all G1 users by the end of May.

Enhancements and feature updates to the mobile operating system include a new full-size on-screen QWERTY keyboard; video record and playback capabilities; and easy uploading of photos to Picasa and videos to YouTube. You can find additional details on Android 1.5 can be found here and here.
