As expected, Sprint this week became the first carrier to launch the BlacKBerry Tour, a RIM smartphone that works on both the carrier's network and on mobile networks worldwide. That's because the BlackBerry Tour also includes 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA (3G) and quad-band EDGE/GSM/GPRS radio, in addition to one to support Sprint's own CDMA/EV-DO network. Additional features include a high-resolution display (480 x 360 at 245 ppi) display; a full-size QWERTY thumb keyboard and trackball; the ability to take up to a 16GB microSDHC card; and, of course, support for corporate and personal email with attachment viewing, a calendar, and integrated address book. The BlackBerry Tour goes for $199.99 with a new line of service or eligible upgrade, two-year service agreement and $100 mail-in rebate. See
