SBSH Mobile's recently updated its application, GoNews Touch ($14.95, available here) to version 1.1. GoNews is a Google Reader-compatible offline newsreader for Windows Mobile that automatically syncs with your Google Reader account.

The software aggregates headlines and articles based on your personal preferences and caches them automatically to your smartphone. It creates a newspaper-like interface that allows you to read through the daily headlines and articles even when your device is offline.

According to SBSH, the update provides optimized auto-updating capabilities and new and improved gesture-based navigation. So users can swipe between articles like a real newspaper and more easily enlarge them for reading, for example.

See here for more info about the newsreader.

In related news, SPB Software just updated Windows Mobile news reader, SPB News, as well. SPB News, formally Insight, is now on version 2.0.

Like GoNews, the app makes full-text articles (including images) available for offline reading on Microsoft-run smartphones. 2.0 sports a new user-friendly touch interface and supports gestures, automatic updates, and smart scrolling in articles.

Users of SPB Insight 1.x are entitled to a free update to SPB News 2.0. Otherwise, the application sells for $19.95. See here to learn more.
