T-Mobile announced today it would start shipping the HTC Touch Pro2 in a couple of weeks, on August 12th. It did not reveal how much the new smartphone, which replaces the two-year old T-Mobile Wing, will cost, however.

The Touch Pro2 runs on HTC's TouchFLO 3D interface, which is layered on top of Windows Mobile 6.1. All thought it hasn't been confirmed, you should be able to upgrade this device Windows Mobile 6.5 at some point after Microsoft's platform upgrade becomes available this fall.

Like a number of previous HTC smartphones, the Touch Pro2 will sport a touch screen (WVGA - 800 x 480 pixels) that slides back and tilts up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard.

Additional features include 228MB of RAM, a 528MHz CPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus, microSD card slot, and support for the carrier's 3G data network.

Rumor has it the country's other major carriers—Sprint, Verizon and AT&T—will pick up versions of these smartphone as well.
