The Palm Pre, available in the U.S. and Canada, will make its European debut at the end of October, according to recent reports. Supposedly, that is when O2 will launch the first webOS smartphone in the UK. O2 is also the carrier that delivers the Apple iPhone in Britain.

The version of the Pre for Europe will be the first GSM/HSDPA edition of Palm's latest device, as the edition offered by Sprint in this country and Bell Mobility up north leverage those operators' CDMA/EV-DO technology.

Verizon plans to become the second U.S. carrier to offer the Pre early next year, after Sprint's exclusivity period ends. For more on the Palm Pre, see our review here.
