A Pair of Android Phones Slated for Verizon Wireless?

By James Alan Miller
September 3, 2009

When Motorola announces its inaugural lineup of Android smartphones on September 10th, one of those models is expected to be reserved for Verizon Wireless. According to Phone Arena, that's not the only gPhone on tap for the country's largest mobile operator. Rumor has Verizon will also pick up a Android-run model from HTC, the Desire ADR6200.

Reportedly, Verizon will brand the HTC Desire ADR6200 as a Google phone, making it, unlike the other Google Android handsets out there, an actual gPhone. This also means the Desire will likely lack HTC's proprietary Sense user interface that the HTC Hero will sport for Sprint. Nothing else in the way of specs or availability is known about this device. We will keep you posted.
