AT&T to Deliver Free Wi-Fi to Supported Windows Mobiles

On September 14th, AT&T plans to deliver free access to over 22,000 U.S. hotspots for users of supported Windows Mobile smartphones. These Wi-Fi-enabled devices include the HTC Fuze, LG Incite, Samsung Jack, and Samsung Propel Pro.

The carrier already does this for RIM BlackBerry and Apple iPhone users. My bet is the mobile operator sees this as a way to take some pressure off of its cellular-wireless 3G network, which is having trouble keeping up with demand thanks to the huge demand placed on it by AT&T's millions of iPhone owners.
