Boruch Goldstein was a very big exception.
a VERY big exception.
he was a madman.
no-one supprted him.
he was a loner.
there was no dancing on the streets.
i don't know about the us but the uk put it on front page news for a few days (unlike all the suicide bombings in israel which barely make it in the "news in brief")
the israeli government condemned the attack.you will not find a sane jew anywhere that supprted his actions.
let not one be the downfall of the many.
the palestinian attacks have been many, continuous over the decades and supprted by the majority of palestinians and their leaders (i'd say "all" but someone will bring me a solitary example of shiek i-ve-got-lots-of-money-and-so-need-to-pander-to-america actually condemning one of the more horrific attacks)
99.9999% of israelis are sane normal people. each country has it's share of nutcases, rapists and murderers. boruch goldstein was just one of them and he was treated as the criminal. sadly there have been two isolated incidents since then. in all cases the criminals (as a opposed to matyrs) were convicted.
even in the supposedly callous trigger-happy israeli army every bullet is acounted for. thry and shoot a palestinian when not under attack and like in every democratic country on earth he will be court-martialed.
the comparison is insulting to the countless israelis who have lost their lives in terrorist attacks in the past year.
israel was comndemned for moths for that one solitary act of a madman. yet somehow when it experiences one similar attack a week it is condemned. how can israel win when it is to blamed if it's attacked or if it tried to pervent the attacks?
