1- The crusades were launched to protect christian pilgrims travelling to the Holy Land and who were attacked by savage muslims (yeah you now : the ones who are a bit more evil than those are are not that evil...).
2- practically all of the Maghreb and the mid-east (as well as Turkey, Indonesia etc) are muslim today because christians have been wiped out and forced to change religion or die.
Now, lets get one thing straight : not all christians are saints (we know that and I'm the first to confess) but islam is definitely a wrongdoing religion in so far as it obliges its followers and people of the countries in which it's the religion of the majority, to abide by that unique religion. Muslims can preach in christian countries but you can't wear a cross around your neck in Saudi Arabia!
