Talk to the Hand: SyncTalk Bridges the Wireless GapCharlotte, NC, USA – With wireless technology on the rise people
are able to communicate with anyone, anywhere. But what if you
want your computers to do the talking?
SoDeog Technologies has the answer: SyncTalk™. SyncTalk allows
cell phones and personal digital assistants to talk to each other
across operating systems, without cables. This means you can
beam appointment and contact information from a Palm Pilot to a
Cassiopeia at the touch of a button.
Previously, these devices could talk only to their own kind (Palm
to Palm, CE to CE), creating islands of information with no
bridge to connect them. SyncTalk is that bridge.
“SyncTalk really speeds the information transfer process,”
explains Ryan Walcott, co-founder and president/CEO of SoDeog
Technologies. “You no longer have to waste time inputting
business card information, because it can be downloading while
you proceed with business.”
SyncTalk is the first software to make such instant communication
possible. The beta version, which allows transfer of contact and
appointment info over infrared waves, became available for free
download on the company’s website (www.sodeog.com) November 16.
To date, over 2500 registered users have downloaded SyncTalk. An
additional 2000-plus users have downloaded the software from
various shareware sites, with a great number in the European and
Asian markets.
Later versions, perhaps as early as January 1, will allow tasks
and memos to jump from one device to another. The software will
support all methods of data transfer – infrared, wireless
Internet, Bluetooth – as they become widely available.
“Our ultimate goal is to have all personal digital devices
manufactured with SyncTalk software as part of the standard
package,” adds Walcott. “No matter which device you choose,
SyncTalk will bring all the information together, improving
business and personal communications.”
SyncTalk supports Windows CE and Palm operating systems, with
EPOC capability expected by January 1.
