Message:After several years of using mine, I had a similar experience. I hope you have backed up your data, because the only cure that I could find was a "hard reset". It's like the old ctrl-alt-del sequence for re-booting PCs. Refer to the Usr's Guide for Resetting Your System, section 1 page 8 in my manual. Basically it says to try ctrl-alt-del first -- a soft reset. If that works, you're in luck. Your data should still be there. If that doesn't work, try ctrl-alt-shift (the gold up-arrow). That will do a hard reset and re-initialize the system for you.
