Message:Hmm. I did what you did to get Cpack onto my WinMe m/c and it worked from the outset. Does your PC have a non-standard IP address for COM1? It comes to me like a dream that the PC Cpack software can be fine tuned for it if necessary. And are your cable & pins etc physically OK? Otherwise I can't think of anything obvious.
As a workaround, you could install 32 bit transfile win 200 (free download from www.palmtop.net) and run the "Detect Palmtop" option on the right hand screen to see if that picks it up. If it did, at least you would prove the connection. Whether you like it as a product is up to you.
Also, I've successfully run Laplink version 5 for DOS to connect WinMe and HP200LX. LL5 installs & works fine on the HP - run it from the DOS prompt not system manager. It installs fine on WinMe, but BE CAREFUL. It uses a couple of *386.dll's which may be responsible for a system trash when I ran Norton Antivirus over the top... So if you try LL5 I'd Ghost the entire machine (or otherwise back up) first just in case...
