Bjern: Looks like I misunderstood your question. I went & donwloaded a. *.hdb file from here: http://www.geocities.com/capitalware/helio_content_short.html
I unzipped it to my Helio folder. Went back to my Helio Desktop, clicked on the Helio icon, clicked on
Install Application. Got the Install PDA Application dialog box. Clicked on Add. Got the Open dialog
box. Find your Helio folder that has your *.hdb file in it. At the bottom, there's a selection window that
says "*.app." Click on the down arrow on that little window and click on "*.hdb". Highlight your *.hdb file.
Click on "Open." You're now back in your Install PDA Application dialog box. Click on "Close."
You're back at your little Helio Desktop Launch Bar. Click on the far-left icon again; click on V-Synch,
Select "V-Synch Set-up." Be sure the "V-Synch Settings" button at the top is selected, then highlight
""Install." Make sure it says "Desktop Overwrites PDA." Save & Close. Do a PC to PDA Synch. (This
didn't work the first time I tried it. I went back and changed all the applications to "Do nothing" EXCEPT
"Install" and "System" which I made "Desktop Overwrites PDA." I don't know what, about that change, I
did right, but now I've got my .hdb file showing up as soon as I open Ebook reader.)
There have been some Protection Fault errors with the Ebook reader installed. Some people have had
them when they tried to install or read very large *.hdb files. Info about the problem and how to get
around it (unfortunately it mostly seems to be, uninstall Ebook Reader), is available in the messages in
the Helio PDA Buzz message boards.
If any of these instructions are wrong, I would be very grateful to whoever can correct me! I've figured this out by trip & fall, mostly, with additional help from the PDABuzz Helio boards.
