Unfortunately newtontalk.net is down and who knows how long it will take to fix. To my knowledge the unit is now shot. If you are feeling adventurous you could bid on those three damaged eMates on ebay right now and see if they have the cable intact but you should be familiar with electronics. Hell, you should be excellent with electronics to try something like this.
